Rebuilding lives at the borders. Challenges in caring for migrants and refugees was the title of the conference organized by CSEM and Weltkirche, in partnership with Bienvenu Shelter and the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo - Scalabrinians, with the support of Radio Veritas and Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

The event presented and discussed experiences in assisting migrants and refugees and the results of research carried out by CSEM on the concrete actions of agents and institutions that aim to help these people in their lives at the border, with actions that aim to respect and value their protagonism and autonomy, supporting their migratory projects.

The event was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from December 4 to 6, 2018, of which this volume brings the main results in Portuguese. Another volume publishes the texts in English at the same time.
