Migrations and otherness in the Christian community: An essay in the theology of human mobility

Carmen Lussi
Brasília: CSEM, 2015.

Migrations and alterity in the Christian community is a text built on the ecclesial experience of Christian leaders and communities in situations of international human mobility, listening to migrants and confronting theological knowledge. The volume systematizes extensive field research, seeking answers from the migrants themselves to questions such as: What happens to migrants' faith while they are migrating? And once they have arrived in a foreign land, how does migration transform their faith and ecclesial experience? And how does the migratory experience affect the spiritual and ecclesial experience of a person or a community?
The reflections encourage theology and pastoral care to think about and interpret migration in the context of ecclesial life, without separating it from other forms of otherness and from the dynamism of Christian life and the existence of other protagonists who make up the community experience of Christians.
