No s\u00e9timo ano de celebra\u00e7\u00e3o do Dia Mundial dos Pobres, o Papa Francisco em sua mensagem<\/a>, convida a refletir sobre a ess\u00eancia do Evangelho e a redescobrir o compromisso de viver a pobreza e servir aos necessitados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O Papa destaca as palavras do Livro de Tobias, que ensina sobre a import\u00e2ncia de olhar para os pobres, n\u00e3o apenas com compaix\u00e3o, mas agindo concretamente em prol deles. Tobite, um homem que confiou no Senhor mesmo diante das adversidades, deixa ao filho n\u00e3o apenas bens materiais, mas o testemunho de uma vida dedicada \u00e0 caridade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Nunca afastes de algum pobre o teu olhar” (Tb 4,7). Essa instru\u00e7\u00e3o vai al\u00e9m de uma simples lembran\u00e7a; \u00e9 um convite a praticar boas obras, viver com justi\u00e7a e, acima de tudo, estar atento \u00e0s necessidades dos menos favorecidos. Tobite, mesmo ap\u00f3s perder tudo por sua generosidade, continuou a praticar a caridade, revelando que o servi\u00e7o aos pobres \u00e9 uma miss\u00e3o constante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muitas pessoas migrantes e solicitantes de ref\u00fagio se deslocam movidas pela busca de uma vida digna, escapando da mis\u00e9ria que permeia suas vidas e os contextos onde vivem ou fugindo de \u201ccen\u00e1rios de guerra\u201d, como aquelas \u201ccrian\u00e7as privadas dum presente sereno e dum futuro digno\u201d.  A hist\u00f3ria de Tobite reflete nas experi\u00eancias de muitos migrantes que enfrentam desafios semelhantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A migra\u00e7\u00e3o, muitas vezes, \u00e9 uma resposta \u00e0 pobreza extrema. Os migrantes a adotam como uma estrat\u00e9gia para buscar oportunidades para si e para os seus, e ao mesmo tempo, contribuir para o desenvolvimento dos contextos onde se inserem atrav\u00e9s de suas culturas, suas compet\u00eancias e seu labor. Migrantes e refugiados trazem consigo a esperan\u00e7a de uma vida melhor e a vontade de agregar para a sociedade que os acolhe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A migra\u00e7\u00e3o, apesar de muitas vezes ser impulsionada pela pobreza e tantas vezes se tornar fator de empobrecimento e exclus\u00e3o por raz\u00f5es relacionadas com as condi\u00e7\u00f5es e as pol\u00edticas contra a popula\u00e7\u00e3o em mobilidade, \u00e9 uma oportunidade. E \u00e9 chamando a aten\u00e7\u00e3o e destacando a necessidade de acolhimento e compreens\u00e3o para construir um futuro mais justo para todos que o Papa conclui sua mensagem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Day of the Poor: A Call to Solidarity and Action<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the seventh year of the World Day of the Poor, Pope Francis’ message invites us to reflect on the essence of the Gospel and to rediscover our commitment to living poverty and serving those in need.<\/p>\n

The Pope highlights the words of the Book of Tobit, which teaches about the importance of looking at the poor, not just with compassion, but by acting concretely on their behalf. Tobit, a man who trusted in the Lord even in the face of adversity, leaves his son not only material goods, but the testimony of a life dedicated to charity.<\/p>\n

“Never look away from any poor person” (Tb 4:7). This instruction goes beyond a simple reminder; it is an invitation to practice good works, live justly and, above all, be attentive to the needs of the less fortunate. Tobit, even after losing everything because of his generosity, continued to practice charity, revealing that service to the poor is a constant mission.<\/p>\n

Many migrants and asylum seekers move in search of a dignified life, escaping the misery that permeates their lives and the contexts in which they live or fleeing “war scenarios”, like those “children deprived of a peaceful present and a dignified future”.\u00a0 Tobite’s story reflects the experiences of many migrants who face similar challenges.<\/p>\n

Migration is often a response to extreme poverty. Migrants adopt it as a strategy to seek opportunities for themselves and their families, while at the same time contributing to the development of the contexts in which they live through their cultures, their skills and their work. Migrants and refugees bring with them the hope of a better life and the desire to add to the society that welcomes them.<\/p>\n

Migration, despite often being driven by poverty and so often becoming a factor of impoverishment and exclusion for reasons related to conditions and policies against the population on the move, is an opportunity.
