Migratory flows are becoming increasingly complex and dynamic. There is a diversification of the places of origin and destination and also of the forms of human mobility, which go beyond migration for economic reasons to include refugees, internally displaced people and other categories of forced migrants, presenting new realities and demands that often require urgent responses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to United Nations figures, more than 232 million people in the world are migrants (UNITED NATIONS, 2013). The year 2015 saw unprecedented levels of displacement due to wars and conflicts. In 2014, for example, 59.5 million people were displaced by forced migration, according to UNHCR data. It has also been possible to follow, through the media, the increase in migratory flows and the various challenges facing migration policies and, especially, respect for and promotion of human rights. The challenges of protecting the lives and dignity of people and human groups on the move challenge all social actors, and the academic world in particular.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The International Seminar aims to discuss the issue of international migration today from an interdisciplinary and human rights perspective, encouraging interaction and the exchange of experiences and knowledge among the audience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event also marks the 10th anniversary of the scientific journal <a href=\"http:\/\/csem.org.br\/remhu\/index.php\/remhu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">REMHU - Interdisciplinary Journal of Human Mobility<\/a>in 2006 and since then has maintained its regularity and scientific rigor by disseminating reflections, research and studies based on an interdisciplinary approach.
