Summary of permits granted by the National Immigration Council up to 31/03/2014.
The National Immigration Council (CNIg), the body responsible for immigration policy in the country, granted 1,926 permits this quarter, of which 1,643 were for men and 283 for women. Of the total, 1,825 visas were issued for permanent work and 101 for temporary work.
Regarding the category of permits granted by the CNIG, 1,697 of them were of a humanitarian nature, 121 for foreigners in a stable union with a Brazilian, three due to special situations involving foreign investors and 105 for other situations.
