A few days ago we gave you the beautiful news of the kidnapping of "Josué", a three-year-old boy, from the "Centro residenziale" (actually a detention center for immigrant families) in Berks, Pennsylvania, USA.
In that center, imprisoned together with his mother Teresa for 16 months, "José" had spent a little more than half of his life and had learned to crawl, then to walk and to speak.
On August 16, Berks, after 23 months, also gave birth to "Antonio", eight years old, along with his mother Marlene, 24. The two mothers and two children were fugitives from Honduras (a Central American country that, along with El Salvador and Guatemala, has record levels of violence), after repeated cases of sexual violence and kidnapping.
Entered into the US to seek political asylum, they were taken to Berks.
Amnesty International USA continues to call for an end to the detention of migrant children and their parents in Berks and other similar centers in the country. In Berks alone, there are still ten family nuclei in these conditions and three families have been there for over 600 days.
