MOTHER ASSUNTA MARCHETTI A Missionary Life

We are happy to present the biography of the Servant of God
Mother Assunta Marchetti written by Sister Laura Bondi, missionary
Scalabrinian.
We offer this work mainly to the Missionary Sisters
of St. Charles Borromeo-Scalabrinians, born from the mind and the
generous heart of an Italian bishop, Blessed John Baptist Scalabrini,
to assist the migrants and, placed by himself, under the
protection of a great 16th century saint, St. Charles Borromeo.
With these pages, we want to respond to the desire, often
manifested by the Sisters and clearly expressed in the last chapter
general: to have consistent texts available to deepen the life and
action of our co-founder, Mother Assunta Marchetti. This will
be, at the same time, an additional instrument for spreading life and the
devotion of the Servant of God, with the wish that in the near future
the Church, our Mother, recognizes his holiness.
