Identity of the Scalabrinian Sisters: Deepening to Witness

Brasilia: CSEM, 2013

We are happy to offer the Sisters this text on the “Updating of the Proper Law Project”, a project in which all the communities have been able to participate, since in recent years it has been part of community reflection, which has been enriched with central themes concerning the Proper Law. The valuable resources sent to the communities during the reflection process (2006-2009) have effectively enriched the Sisters' contribution to updating our Constitutions and Ordinances, permeating them with elements of Scalabrinian identity, spirituality and mission.
The themes elaborated that contributed most to the reflection are: Nature and Purpose of the Congregation, Consecrated Life, Formation, Mission, Authority, Administration and Economy. Considering the richness of the biblical, theological, doctrinal and charismatic elements that make up the texts, the General Government decided to bring them together and publish them in a single volume. This could serve for future reflections on the deepening of the Proper Law, strengthen the identity of the members of the Institute, and enrich the contents that are part of the formation program for our candidates.
