O artigo analisa o conceito de feminização das migrações visando explicitar seu significado no contexto das migrações internacionais contemporâneas. – Roberto Marinucci

 The article analyses the concept of the feminization of migration in order to explain its meaning in the context of contemporary international migration. According to the author, feminization can be interpreted as an increase in the number of migrant women, as a change in the analytical criteria of the migratory phenomenon through the inclusion of a gender approach and/or as a transformation in the profile of migrant women. The final section assesses the extent to which contemporary geographical displacement can represent a real space for women's empowerment and liberation.
