“Migración y Transformación Social” es la más reciente publicación de la Serie Migraciones, organizada y editada por la Editorial CSEM. Es una obra que busca profundizar e divulgar estudios interdisciplinarios sobre las migraciones y temas relacionados.
The book addresses the centrality of migration in global political debates, highlighting its influence not only on the lives of migrants, but also underlining the complexity of migratory movements and their impact on communities of origin, generating transformations along migratory routes.
The book challenges Eurocentric narratives, promoting a fairer and more inclusive approach to migration and recalls the urgency of looking beyond national borders. It consists of twelve articles written by more than 30 authors from different countries. It is organized into three sections which present, according to the organizers, “a variety of experiences”.
La propuesta de los organizadores, al compilar los textos para el volumen, “era reunir a autores que rompieran la inercia de los discursos disciplinarios y combinaran un trabajo académico riguroso con proyectos aplicados centrados en los migrantes “(p.21, prefacio).
The miscellany aims to critically show the main challenges facing migration research today, as well as exposing the issues surrounding the authors' methodological and operational approaches in the field of migration in the contexts of Africa, Europe and Latin America. The volume dialogues directly with problems related to social work with migrants and refugees.
La publicación se inserta en el contexto de la Rede MISOTRAN y es una traducción del libro “Migration and Social Transformation: engaged perspectives”, publicados por la editora Machdohnil Ltd en mayo de 2022.
