The phenomenon of migration is fundamentally interdisciplinary, as it allows for a variety of interpretations: demographic, economic, political, psychological, cultural and/or sociological. In the context of migration, one aspect that has been drawing the attention of scholars and others interested in the subject of human mobility and related areas is the gender issue.
