What task is the Lord calling us to with the immigrants and refugees who come from far away and knock on our door? This and other similar questions gave rise to the texts that make up this book, which publishes the main results of a field study during which the subjects directly involved were heard: Italians and immigrants who live and work with the theme of human mobility. The research was carried out between 2016 and 2017 in three Italian border dioceses: Messina, Como and Trento. In addition to collecting data on the phenomenon, on the strategies and efforts with which Christians experience immigration, the study raises questions and challenges which, on the one hand, motivate and, on the other hand, challenge Christian communities.
